The Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá is an underground Roman Catholic church built within the tunnels of a huge salt mine 200 meters underground. The Cathedral has many ornate carvings and atmospheric lighting and there is also a museum, restaurants and Colombia’s largest artificial climbing wall. The Cathedral is one of the most important tourist attractions in Colombia.
La Calera is a scenic area of mountains overlooking the north of Bogota. The area was developed in colonial times for limestone mines, where many of the indigenous Teuscas were forced to work – the name Calera is derived from the word for 'Prison' the Teusca language.
Utica is a small colonial town located in the department of Cundinamarca to the south of Bogota. Despite being only 3 hours away Utica is much warmer than Bogota due to its lower altitude. This tour includes options for activities including rafting/kayaking in the Rio Negro, canyoning, mountain biking, paintball and abseiling.
Tobia is an picturesque old town that grew up as a stop were trains used to restock on wood for their steam engines. The trains might be gone now but Tobia remains a good getaway from Bogota as it has reinvented itself as a centre for trekking, rafting & climbing.
Tobia is the closest town to Bogota for doing adventure tourism. The tour includes rafting, rappelling.
This beautiful monastery called Varsana Ecological Gardens was founded in 1983 by the spiritual masters Srila Guru Maharaj and Srila Bhakti Bhimala Harijan Maharaj. It is an important temple of the Vrinda branch of Hinduism. Here you can enjoy activities such as ecological trails, yoga, medidation. In Varsana's Ecological Park you can also view Hindu Art. The tour includes transport, yoga and a guided tour of the Ecological park.
